If these records survive and are outside their closure date they can be found in County Record Offices.

Any coroner's records for Berkshire are in the Berkshire Record Office at Reading. Those for West Middlesex are in the London Metropolitan Archives.

The 'Gibson Guide': "Coroners' Records in England and Wales" by Jeremy GIBSOB & Colin ROGERS (Fedn FHS, 2nd edn 1997), availble from the Berkshire FHS Bookshop gives lists.

Your next port of call would be to check local newspapers - they love a nice juicy story and like to report any horrible events. For information about the titles and where they can be seen are listed in a recently published edition of the Gibson Guide "Local Newspapers" compiled by Jeremy GIBSON, Brett LANGSTON & Brenda SMITH (Fedn FHS, 2nd edn, 2002) - also available from from the Berkshire FHS Bookshop.

These newspapers can all be seen at Colindale Newspaper Library in London and also - in many cases - in the relevant local studies library or record office.
