'Shops & Businesses' 2nd in Talk Series (Thu. 25 Jul, 2019 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Queues, U-boats and useless mouths: Food in WW2: with Mike Cooper

More people starved in the Second World War than were killed by bombs or bullets.  Britain suffered its most intensive blockade ever, yet emerged from the war healthier and with a better diet than before.  This fascinating talk looks at the choices made by the warring nations, and at food at home in Britain, and in the British Army.

For those attending who wish to do some family history research while visiting The Centre, Research Zone computers will be open from 1 pm.

TICKETS £5 (Member £4) includes tea/coffee and cake or book all five talks in the series for the discounted price of £20 (Member £16).  Advanced booking is recommended but you can pay on the door (subject to availability).

Members can obtain the saving by using the coupon code published in the current Berkshire Family Historian.

Other talks in the series are on 8th August, 22nd August and 5th September.
