Your memorabilia and what's behind it (Wed. 20 Sep, 2017 7:15 pm - 9:45 pm)

In February 2017 members and visitors were invited to bring to the meeting one of their family history artefacts (memorabilia) together with the story behind the object, document, etc. The evening proved to be so successful that we did not have time to see and hear about all of the items available so it was decided to hold a second session in September.

During the evening we will use a camera  to project an image of the artefact onto a screen so that all the audience will be able to fully see the object whether this is the family history data found in a bible, engraving on a piece of silver or possibly the fine stitching on a tiny pair of baby shoes. In addition to the story that is already known about the artefact by its owner we will use the power of the Internet to search out further information that may be gleamed about the object shown.
