It is the new focal point for a wide range of events and activities designed for family historians (wherever their interests), for local historians and for others who simply enjoy learning more about the past.

TUESDAY EVENING ‘Natter Groups’ (informal discussion at The Centre on the first Tuesday evening in the month from 18.45)

WORKSHOPS During the summer there is a follow-up DNA workshop (already fully booked) and in September, a workshop on parish registers — a key resource for family historians — and a chance to understand how to get the best from available indexes, transcriptions and the original records themselves.

Some of these are FREE to attend. For others, a modest fee is payable.

When you become a member of the society, you enjoy discounts on fees for those events where fees are payable. Just one more benefit that makes membership such good value.

And, looking to the autumn, The last Beginners' Course in family history became fully booked very quickly. Contact the Booking Administrator if you would like to join the next one.
