GiftAid - increase the value of your payment
at no added cost to you

Do you pay UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax? If you do, think about making a Gift Aid declaration.

If you expect to pay an amount of UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax that at least equals  your membership fee payment, the society could reclaim valuable additional revenue from HMRC on your subscription for the current tax year.

At no extra cost to you Gift Aid increases the value of your payment to the society by a further 25p for every £1 of your membership fee and, if you make one, your donation. Higher Rate taxpayers can reclaim from HMRC the difference between basic rate and higher rate tax on the gross value of gift-aided payments and donations they make to the society.

Tax changes reduced the society's income from reclaiming Gift Aid (and the reclaim income of all UK charities) by 11 per cent from 6 April 2011. That has a sizeable and ongoing impact.

So, if you are an eligible UK taxpayer, please think about making a Gift Aid declaration. You can help to make a real difference when you do.
