Terms and Conditions

By using this service you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

  1. Only paid-up current members of Berkshire Family History Society may register on this site.
  2. Please be patient if you are a new member of the society, or a member who has rejoined very recently with an old membership number. Current membership lists are not necessarily immediately available to the volunteers maintaining this website.
  3. The Society makes reasonable efforts to remove errors from information provided on this website. Be aware that members and others have supplied some information that may contain errors.
  4. The Society will forward your contact details to a current member if you make an enquiry. It does not give out contact details of other members without their prior permission having been secured.
  5. Berkshire Family History Society will not forward enquiries to lapsed members, as they may no longer wish to respond to family history enquiries.
  6. All reasonable efforts have been made to obtain the permission of copyright holders where such permission is required.
  7. These contractual terms will be interpreted according to the laws of England and any litigation will be subject to the laws of England.

Login ignored

When you try to log in to the Members' Area you might find that Members' menu does not appear. In that case, follow these simple steps:

  1. If there is a ribbon showing at the top of the page, click on the green I agree button. Then log in again. Otherwise continue to step 2
  2. Click on the Cookies link in the blue bar at the foot of the page.
  3. Click on the Remove Cookies button at the top of that article.
  4. A warning will will pop up - click on OK.
  5. Now click on Reconsider Cookies at the top of the cookies article - the cookie ribbon will now appear at the top of the page.
  6. Click on the green I agree button.

You should now be able to login, if you still can't login please contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the following details:

  • Name and version of web browser eg Firefox 64.0, Chrome 71.0, Safari 12.0
  • Name and version of your operating system eg Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Mac OS Mojave (10.14)
  • Name of your Internet Service Provider eg BT Internet, PlusNet, Zen.

Discussion Archives not available

Please be patient. The program that deals with the Discussion List archives needs some minor changes to cope with the upgraded web site.

It will be back after the webmaster has had time to fully test the changes.
