Public Record Office
This has excellent pamphlets which can be downloaded (their "shop" is good too with a delivery time of just a few days). Very useful. It is surprising how little it gets mentioned in lists.

www.wharfegen.org.uk A wonderful example of a labour of love - if your ancestors came from Wharfedale. Nic Wilson has trawled the parish registers of a group of parishes and done a sort of on-line family reconstitution.

Web-sites: ‘Census data’

return to Contents (Web-sites) or Top of Page

There is not much around, yet, but here is an example for Ireland.

www.leitrim-roscommon.com includes the ability to search a database containing 1901 Irish Census Records for Leitrim and Roscommon .

Web-sites: ‘Genealogical data’

LDS Family Search Site - (includes IGI and Personal Ancestral File).
Some suggest this maybe a dangerous site for use by beginners because one has to be aware of the background to the way the data on this site has been collected.
