Computing Workshops

for Family Historians

These are full day workshops (10 am to 4 pm) usually held on a Saturday.

The Internet can be accessed at any time during open hours. Experts are normally available on Tuesday evenings and 2nd Sunday afternoons to answer computer questions.

Using Family History Programs

Next Workshop: Sat, 26th October 2002

Learn how to use a Family History Program. Demonstration of Personal Ancestral File (PAF) followed by a hands-on session. Demonstration and discussion of merits of other programs including: Family Tree Maker, Kith & Kin, Generations, The Master Genealogist and Family Origins.

For those with little or no previous experience in the use of Family History programs.

 
Using Data CDs at the Research Centre

Beginners Computing

A Saturday Workshop

Discover what makes your machine tick and what all that jargon means; master the mouse; learn how to save your files and find them again! Use Wordpad (Windows 95/98 word processing program).

For those with little or no previous computer experience.

 
Creating your own Website

A Saturday Workshop

What is a web-site and how to create it; learn what HTML is and how it can be written using simple web-authoring software.

For those with little or no experience of creating web-sites.
