| GENERAL ADVICE |
| PURPOSE
The List is for exchange and discussion of information of interest to
members in the field
of 'Family History and Genealogy'. This includes computing matters
affecting any aspect of Family History. It is a condition of subscribing
to this list that you agree to your messages being passed to other
members of the Society and stored on the web-site (in a password
protected area).
The List is not moderated. Off-subject
Messages - which includes anything about Virus and Hoax Messages - must NOT be posted
to the List; send them to the Listowner for consideration. Posters
of 'Off-subject' topics may be punished!
Information in messages received
from the List MUST NOT be used for
professional purposes unless written
permission has been obtained from Listowner.
The number of messages to the
List varies a lot from day to day; expect about 20 per week in summer
and up to about 50 per week at other times. We hope subscribers find
the messages interesting and helpful. Please do join in the
discussions.
ARCHIVE and MEMBERS AREA A searchable Archive of messages posted since November 1998 is at www.berksfhs.org.uk/members/email/search/. This archive is updated monthly. This area is in a password protected area; access information will be supplied by the Listowner. It is recommended that you look
at this archive from time to time and check it before posting messages
on subjects that are not currently being discussed.
