The county of Norfolk has a long coastline with the North Sea, stretching 88 milses from the Wash to Great Yarmouth, with that and Kings Lynn being the significant ports.

Record Offices

Most records are held at the Norfolk Record Office in Norwich, although the Wisbech and Fenland Museum does provide access to some registers and many films.

Family History Societies

The oldest society is the Norfolk Family History Society (formerly the Norfolk and Norwich Family History Society) based at Kirby House in Norwich, with other parts of the county being served by the Mid-Norfolk Family History Society and the Fenland Family History Society.
