Reading's Old Shops: with Ann Smith

Jacksons, Langstons and Tuttys are familiar shop names to people in Reading.  But do you remember Hawkes Ironmongers or Cook's Dairy and Farm Equipment?  This talk will look at shops from the 19th century to the present day, and how shopping has changed over the years.

For those attending who wish to do some family history research while visiting The Centre, the Research Zone computers will be open from 1 pm.

TICKETS £5 (Member £4) includes tea/coffee and cake.  Advance booking is recommended but you can pay on the door (subject to availability).

Members can obtain the saving using the coupon code published in the current Berkshire Family Historian.

More talks in the series on 22nd August and 5th September.
