Early Closing Day: The Day Reading was bombed: with Mike Cooper

 

2018 marked the 75th anniversary of the only fatal air raid on Reading during the Second World War, in which 41 people lost their lives. Twenty-nine of those people lost their lives in the bombing of the popular British Restaurant in Friar Street - The People's Pantry.  Well-known local historian and author, Mike Cooper, shares his extensive research into this important day for Reading people.

TICKETS: £5 (members £4) includes tea and cake. Book all five talks in the series for £20 (members £16)
