Secrets of the Honeymoon Suitcase 1900 - present day by Val Threlfall.

A really fun talk based on what a young lady would take with her on honeymoon from 1900 onwards.  The talk covers a variety of decades pulling out of the suitcase all those things young brides took away with them, woolly vest and parachute petticoats from war years, roll-ons and whirlpool stitched bras from 1950's.  Lots of honeymoon nighties and stories Val has collected over the years!

Overcoming Pitfalls and Problems by Margaret Crook (Thu. 26 Oct, 2017 7:15 pm - 9:45 pm)

No one is able to trace their family without encountering problems and having to overcome pitfalls.

Perhaps you can't find your ancestor in a census. There may be confusions about the name, or place of birth, marriage or death. Someone may have given you information about which you have doubts. Maybe there is information on the family tree that you know to be wrong.

Referring to personal problems and solutions found, this talk will show you how to overcome these kinds of problems and provide some pointers to help you to overcome those apparent 'brickwalls'.
