Walks and visits

Walking website

Regular walks are organised from The Centre for Heritage and Family History. They usually tie in with the quarterly theme of the Thursday afternoon talks.

The society's local branches arrange walks and visits too, usually in the spring and summer months.

Walks and visits can bring to life aspects of an area's social history. They can also introduce researchers to new ideas, and to opportunities to find and engage with resources that will help them unlock their family’s past.

Some events are free. For others, a modest fee is payable.

The society aims always to arrange talks and visits that are accessible for everyone, but some destinations and venues may not be suitable for those with special access needs.
