The Illustrated Book of Wargrave, Historical Images of a Berkshire Village

Wargrave Local History Society ( Ed: Peter Halman and Peter Delaney, 2011), A4, Hardback, 102 pp

Wargrave in the east of Berkshire, is a large village which stands on the confluence of the River Loddon and River Thames. Included in this book is a brief history of the village which has been in existence since at least 1061 according to a charter of that date. The photographs, many from old postcards held by the Wargrave Local History Society, show the changes in the people, places and events over the past 140 years. A fascinating look back at times gone by, which complements the two earlier books published by the Wargrave Local History Society, The Book of Wargrave, History and Reminiscences and The Second Book of Wargrave, History and Reminiscences.
