The Centre for Heritage and Family History offers

the best facilities for family history research in the area;

an informal forum where researchers can meet, and exchange ideas on topics of shared interest; and

a lively and illuminating programme of events, open to all, designed to inform and entertain you, and other family and local historians. Learn more about these

Entry to the Research Zone is FREE   

Online resources — including Findmypast, The 1939 Register, The Genealogist, The British Newspaper Archive and the worldwide edition of Ancestry — are FREE TO USE

If needed, society volunteers are on hand and can give research help and advice.

 

The Centre is normally open on:

Tuesdays from 10.30 to 16.00 and from 19.00 to 21.00

Wednesdays from 10.30 to 16.00

Saturdays from 10.30 to 16.00

and the last Thursday each month from 10.30 to 16.00

and the phone — 0118 950 9553 — is manned at these times

In very rare instances, availability of volunteers may prevent opening on a particular day as planned.
